Quarry Mountain
November 20, 2019Quarry Mountain
Designed in 2013, this modern marvel masterpiece, situated on over 6 acres, pushed the boundaries of contemporary Architecture in Park City. Located in a gated community, the site is highly visible, so the massing and design of the home was paramount in the HOA approving the home. This home was the second home we had worked on with this client, so Scott was aware of their affinity for contemporary Architecture. Views, privacy, children’s areas and entertaining spaces were of the utmost importance in designing a home for this couple with a young family. The final design was a home with a flat roof, so that the massing wouldn’t dominate the site with tall pitched roofs. Designed on a single level with the children’s bedrooms up half a level and the gym and playrooms down half a level, the design feels integrated with the site. At just over 9,000 square feet, with 5 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms and a 5-car garage, the home is scaled perfectly for the clients. The window walls open and slide into the walls, so as to disappear, blurring the line between the interior of the home and the outside. The hardscape was designed as an integral part of the architecture so that the home felt anchored to the site.
