This estate sits on a ridge in The Colony overlooking not only Park City, Oakley and Heber but also Park City and Deer Valley ski runs. The property also comes with its own funicular. The clients, both artists with an impeccable aesthetic, have teenage boys who love all sports and video games. Due to the high visibility of the site, the building height was limited to 20 feet on the ridge. The directive from the client was to design a home that took advantage of the major views from all of the important rooms, was connected to the outdoors and didn’t feel imposing from the street while including all 15,000 square feet of the program. The home includes 6 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, an indoor pool, office, gym, theater and game room into the building envelope, while designing the home to feel comfortable with 2 or 200 people. We chose a mountain contemporary style of architecture and designed the home to step down the hillside by designing the home in sections. The guest wing is separated from the main house by a walkway over a water feature and the master suite occupies the entire east wing. The design of the exterior spaces was as important as the interior spaces, including the integration of the hardscape to the landscape. While the design of the home is very linear to follow the ridge, the entry and the foyer bisects the home at an angle to maximize the view when entering through the custom 13-foot steel door. Every selection and finish was meticulously selected to compliment the Architecture. The Architecture, Construction and furnishings of this home are unapparelled, but a property of this magnitude deserves only the best.
