Architect/Owner: Scott Jaffa, Jaffa Group Design Build

From day one owner/architect Scott Jaffa wanted to design an innovative energy conscious home that looked toward integrated design and energy solutions. A LEED for homes project naturally challenges the region and culture of architecture requiring cooperation from disciplines across the industry. From the start durability/accountability measures are implemented ensuring the building process and end product is suitable for the environment and climate. Community linkage of resources and site stewardship drives responsible solutions to growth especially when paired with water efficiency, waste reduction and environmentally preferred products. The energy and atmosphere portion of the LEED for homes program optimizes the energy performance of the home (HERS rating of 40 was awarded to this home). Lastly, the program focuses on Indoor air quality and proactive contaminant measures along with raising the awareness and education of both the home owner and community. Building for a better future simply will not work if future generations fail to embrace the role of green building and the long lasting benefits it embodies.
Build for a better today to ensure our tomorrow. - Nik Kohler
