A trend that we are seeing in bathroom design is the use of an integrated sink. This is where the sink is made out of the countertop material. It allows us to create a seamless piece for a vanity top. These typically with have a thin slot drain at the back of the basin where the water drains too. It creates a sleek and contemporary look that eliminates the need for any exposed drain trim. This design detail adds a special finishing detail that helps make a powder bath like this unforgettable.

Luxury Homeowners Who Ditched the Dining Room

With more meals eaten in the kitchen, on the patio and in front of the TV, luxury homeowners are increasingly converting their dining rooms into libraries, dens and other flex spaces.

In an era when most people eat at the kitchen island or in front of the TV, the dining room has become perhaps the least-used room of the house. Now, some luxury home owners are eliminating their dining rooms altogether, instead using the space for libraries, dens and “living pavilions”-in which dinner may sometimes be served.

Big Changes Coming for Water Heat Efficiency. Ready?

New water heater efficiency standards that go into effect April 15, 2015 will require significant changes to the installation of residential water heaters – but just for those larger than 55 gallons in capacity.

These mandates will require much higher Energy Factor (EF) ratings, making a huge impact on how larger water heaters are manufactured, distributed and installed. However, products manufactured before April 15 can still be bought and installed after the changeover date.
