Park City, Utah:
What's not to like?

Easy access to three resorts, world-class snow, great food and lodging

Yesterday, Brandon Harvey skied Park City Mountain Resort. Today, he's on the gondola headed mid-mountain at The Canyons.

“Tomorrow, I'm gonna check out Deer Valley,” the San Francisco native says. “Never been. I hear it's kind of serious but not hard like the Canyons.”

That's one of the big draws of Park City. If you have three days, you easily can ski three resorts. In fact, if you have the money and the inclination, you could ski all of them on the same day, because they're only about 10 minutes apart.

Outdoor Living Spaces

It's finally spring time and that means it's time to start thinking about your outdoor living spaces. An outdoor living space can become an extension of your homes usable space with the warmer weather that we have approaching. There are a few key tips to making the best use of the outdoors.

Creating separate spaces for dining, entertaining and even play areas will help make the most of your outdoor space. The use of metal and stone half walls helps to define the spaces while still keeping with the open concept of the rest of the home. Each space has a clear function and that is why it flows so well.

Decorating outside also lends itself to a vibrant color pallet. You can use the colors of your plants as inspiration for the outdoor fabrics and overall feel of the furniture that you pick. Don't be afraid to go bold with color. Nature is never dull and your outdoor space shouldn't be either.

Save on Energy Improvements

Creating a more energy efficient home is not just beneficial to individual homeowners looking to reduce utility bills, it is also a big step in curbing greenhouse gas emissions and reducing the use of fossil fuels across the country. Testimonial

“Once we decided to build a house in Park City, choosing Jaffa Group as the architect and builder was the easiest part of our decision. For the five years prior to building our home, we would spend a portion of our time in Park City looking at existing homes with a realtor. While we never found a house with the right floor plan for our needs, we would periodically go into a house where the architecture style and design were a perfect match with our personal aesthetic. When we would ask the realtor, 'Who is the architect and builder of this house?' the answer was consistently, Jaffa Group. So we knew from the beginning, when we were ready to build our own custom home, we wanted Jaffa Group to be involved in every step of the process. Before we purchased the land where we ultimately built our home, we called Scott and asked him to meet us on the lot. We had a vision of the home we wanted, and we knew Scott would tell us if he could design and build our dream home on this particular lot. Specifically, although it was a narrow lot, we wanted all of the large main rooms to have magnificent views and be located in the front of the house with the garage to be located in the back of the house. This would necessitate having a long driveway going up the side of the house. Although we had not met Scott before, we had enough confidence in him that if he had said the house we envisioned could not be built on this particular lot, we would not have purchased it. Once the lot was purchased, then the fun really began. We gave Scott an extensive list of all the elements that we wanted in our home. It was a very detailed and very specific list of ideas that we had been thinking about for the past ten years. He and his team listened to everything we said and really designed the perfect home for us. One of our primary goals was to have mountain views whenever possible despite the narrow lot. Scott’s meticulous placement of our home on the lot combined with his careful positioning of expansive windows allowed for stunning mountain views from practically every room in our home. While we loved the mountain homes he had designed previously, we wanted something unique for us and a little more contemporary. From the very beginning, Scott had a sense of what we liked and what we were looking for in the design of our home. His use of different and unusual building materials combined with his artistic vision is what makes our home distinctive and timeless. Once the design was established, Richard made sure the construction was of the highest quality. Richard worked tirelessly overseeing every aspect of the construction resulting in a home that is solid and well built. In working with Scott to select the finishes for our home such as tile, granite, lighting fixtures and hardware, it became clear to us that his artistic vision was integral to the overall look of our home. Consequently, we chose to use Jaffa Group to assist us in selecting all the furniture and accessories as well. As we expected, the furnishings they selected beautifully complement the architectural use of glass, stone, steel and wood in our home. Their discriminating taste and sense of style completed the overall look that we had hoped to achieve. By using Scott, Richard and Jaffa Group from the very beginning to plan, design, build and furnish our home, we achieved a contemporary mountain home with a beautifully integrated exterior and interior that exceeded our expectations.”
