It is truly the small accents that bring a room to life.

Art immediately lifts a space and breathes in soul; it is the easiest way to imprint yourself and your style into a space. A completely neutral room instantly becomes intriguing when the right piece is brought into the home.

This gorgeous living room is brightened by vibrant piece over the fireplace. The brightness of the piece is repeated in the sofa pillows and the accent chair. The same tone is repeated throughout the great room area to unify it. By maintaining a neutral landscape the art remains the main accent.

This is a musical family and so we have the painted guitar on the fireplace hearth and the album art wall. Wouldn't you say you know a little about the family, without personally meeting them?

LEED Certification: A Primer

LEED certification is a rating system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council to help promote green building practices and sustainable development across the country. It rates construction projects of all types by awarding points for green building practices in four separate areas: sustainable sites, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, and innovation and design process. When the points are added up, a structure or project is assigned a LEED rating of Certified, Silver, Gold, or Platinum, with a LEED Platinum Certified project being about as green as a construction project can get.
